Xplora Pacific 4 days 3 nights (Nuquí + Guachalito + Panguí)

The Pacific is different from everything. If you do not see the sea, do not realize that you have it close, because you are surrounded by jungle, and even its waves do not seem to be provoked by the wind but by the inertia of the whole sea, that everything is coming and going, the low tide leaves uncovered a huge new and clean beaches, which disappear again every 6 hours. Its food, its villages, its fauna and flora form a truly special landscape where whales come from July to October to have and teach to swim their calves. It is an experience that must be lived.


DAY 1: Arrival at El Dorado Airport / Olaya Herrera Airport to take the flight to Nuquí. The Xplora Colombia team will be waiting to welcome you with pipe water accompanied by a fish pie. We’ll take the luggage at Vientos de Yubarta ecolodge, while we’ll prepare us to visit the houses of the artisans of Nuquí. There, we’ll share with them and see how they work their handicrafts made in coconut, wood, beadsa and anvil blades, we can buy directly to the local community because they must be the really beneficiaries.

After setting up at Vientos de Yubarta ecolodge, we’ll walk to Olímpica Beach, where we will enjoy the sea until sunset, accompanied by a refreshing fruit in totumo. Already in the evening we will take a cooking lesson with one of the best cooks in the town, wash your hands well because you’ll end up licking your fingers!

DAY 2: After breakfast, we’ll leave the hotel and go to Guachalito. Once there we’ll go at La Joviseña Ecolodge. We’ll be ready to enjoy whale watching activity (July-October) in Cabo Corriente, an appropriate place for fishing and scuba diving, with a rich landscape, where the whales arrive to mate, give birth to their offspring and teach them to swim. During the whale whatching we’ll have a snack. On the way back, we’ll visit the community of Arusí where we’ll enjoy a typical ancestral lunch and we’ll share a time of singing and dancing with the women of the community. We’ll continue to Thermals, where we’ll relax in its thermal wells and have the option of a bath of healing herbs bath and relaxing massage. Return to La Joviseña, where at night you can enter the water to activate with your hands and feet the wonderful plankton, which, if you are lucky for a dark night, you can see the sea light with every step you give.  Dinner and Rest.

DAY 3: At morning, we’ll leave from Guachalito to Panguí, where we can taste a delicious cane juice, panela with coconut, buy cane honey, vinete, viche with aromatic herbs, eat a bread or a chorizo ​​of fish, and where we’ll have the opportunity to learn about the development of each product. We’ll enjoy a moment of Cumbancha, the native music of this region.

We will go to Chachita Ecolodge, who with his joy and human warmth will receive us with a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we get ready to go on an ecological hike to the Arena Azul beach, during the tour we can enjoy a varied landscape between hills, beaches that meet the jungle, crabs, birds and corals. Perfect place for photography. We will also take advantage of the opportunity to bathe in the sea and relax on its beaches. We will do the tour to the fondeadero, where we can snorkel, swim in the waterfalls that flow into the sea, enjoy its crystalline clear waters and the beauty of the landscape of this place. On the way back to the ecolodge, we will enjoy a wooden tray of an ancient herbal bath from the Pacific. Dinner and rest.

DAY 4: Breakfast and we’ll leave Utría back to Nuquí. Now you know that the Pacific is different from everything.


  • This program may have some modifications due to changes in flight schedules.
  • The order of daily activities may change according to the high or low tide.
  • Free time scheduled on the trip will be enjoyed without any tour guides.
  • Due to availability issues, the hotels may be replaced with others of the same category.
  • Whale watching activity is offered in the season from July to October. The rest of the year, the activities of the day will start around 11am. Morning will be free to enjoy the ecolodges.
  • Plankton can be seen depending on the moon. It is essential a dark night to enjoy it.
  • Each passenger is allowed a maximum weight of checked luggage of 10 kilos and carry on luggage 3 kilos.

  • The temperature ranges between 29 – 30 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Be sure to wear comfortable clothes suitable for walking that will protect you from the sun. You’ll also need bathing suit and clothes that can get wet
  • While traveling by boat, you’ll be more comfortable if you wear clothes that can get wet or a bathing suit
  • You must use shoes that can get wet with a good grip on the soles
  • It’s a good idea to bring hats and caps due to the sun
  • Don’t forget your sunglasses
  • You should bring your own Snorkel mask
  • Under no circumstances and for no reason should you travel without a camera
