Bogotá – Chiribiquete – Bogotá
We take off from Guaymaral airport, leaving behind Bogota’s Savannah thru La Calera, passing by Valle del Sopo (Sopo Valley) and we’ll outpace the San Rafael reservoir at the west. Later we’ll turn our back on the eastern mountain chain and we’ll be welcomed by the eastern plains through Acacias, and from there we’ll fly south in pursuit of the legendary Chiribiquete highlands; the biggest protected area in the National Parks system, with an approximate 2,782,000 hectares. Unimaginable rocks rise as a fortress in the middle of the jungle through our plane’s windows between 350 and 850 ft high. In these stoned walls more than 200,000 pictograms have been found, dating from more than 19,500 years. No doubt, a magnificent overflight that will change your life. One of the most sumptuous territories of the Amazon.
