This region comprises 42% of the national territory and we only know Leticia, ignoring places as incredible, as historic and as virgin as the forest itself.

The experience of flying over the Chiribiquete flanked by rock formations that appear in the middle of the Guaviare jungle, cross the Amazon to know the admirable landscape and the deep sounds of the jungle, the value of the history of the Chorrera natives and get into their culture, knowing their singing, their past and their worldview. Then the Caquetá River, we will fly through the Araracuara Canyon to tread on land and go in search of the lost city.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

Day 1: We take a Xplora Colombia charter flight from Guaymaral in search of the legendary Serranía del Chiribiquete; unthinkable rocks rise like a fortress in the middle of the jungle through the windows of our plane in a flyby, If we have National Parks authorization.

Did your read the book La Voragine? Well, we have reached La Chorrera, the place where it all happened. There the Huitoto indigenous community has a song to teach you; its world view and history fills us up with courage. That comes after getting refreshed on the Igaraparana River and its powerful stream. At night, we’ll share a cultural moment in La Maloka, where we’ll dance and sing with the Huitoto community.

DAY 2: After a long walk thru the jungle up to a spring, you’ll no doubt be hungry. Therefore, the visit to La Casa Arana, the place where thousands of indigenous where slaved, will take place after we eat. At night, we’ll meet the Huito, community that will tell us why they paint their body and we’ll share with them the way to do it.

DAY 3: We’ll have some time to visit Huitoto handcrafts and buy it in the middle of the Colombian Amazon from an artisan that exports its products. Then, we’ll fly to Cañón de Araracuara (Araracuara Canyon) where we’ll contemplate the view offered by the high stone walls, home of blue macaws (guacamayas) flying freely, just as we did through this great country. Back to Bogotá.
